About Trigger.dev
Trigger.dev lets you write long-running background tasks as plain async TypeScript functions inside your existing codebase and deploy them to managed or self-hosted workers. Runs have no execution timeouts: the engine checkpoints a run while it waits (for a subtask, a delay or a human approval via waitpoint tokens) and restores it later, so you only pay for compute that is actually used. It provides automatic retries with configurable backoff, queues with concurrency limits, idempotency keys, cron schedules, batch triggering and real-time run updates streamed to your frontend. Every run is traced with OpenTelemetry and visible in a dashboard with logs and replay. Trigger.dev can be used through Trigger.dev Cloud or self-hosted with Docker or Kubernetes (Helm).
